Well, I didn't........

DIE!!!!!!

I found out about this weird thing the other day:
Couch 2 5k--Umm??
I wonder if I could do that....
My thought process is as follows:
I want to get healthy--I need to get healthy.....
I wonder if I can get "A" to do it with me, even though she is 80 miles away in a differnet state; talked to "A", she was game and we decided on Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday.
Sounds easy enough.....Nine weeks, three days a week....(give or take)
Week 1, All 3 days:
Brisk 5 minute walk, jog 60 seconds, walk 90 seconds and repeat for 20 minutes(which is 8 times!!!!)

First workout was on Saturday: I really thought I was going to die. I couldn't get a deep breath. I needed to take a break after walking. I was very lucky to have Jeremy go with me. I think we made a total of 6 times instead of 8, but I figured that was better than sitting on the couch for an hour! After the workout, "A" and I talked and compared stories. I am so LUCKY to have her doing this with me!!!! I couldn't ask for a better friend to do it with!!!
Now, comes Tuesday and part of me says "No, you don't want to do it!!!" "Stay on the couch"......but I didn't listen!!!!! I got up and went again and it was so much better! We found an area where no one lives or could see us!! We did all eight times and I felt pretty good after wards. I could breath, didn't need to take a break and felt like I was accomplishing something!!

So, as long as I can keep this up, I think I can be healthier and feel better about myself. I wan this and I am feeling proud of myself!!!!

P.S. I was trying to find some pictures, but don't have anything that I want to use. I will keep looking!

Yard Work

I was so excited to have my mom and brother to come down for Memorial Day! We had a cook out and then YARD WORK!!!!

This picture was taken May 23. The ferns were about 6-12 inches taller!

And ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!!!!! So much so that my solar lights would not come on because they were not getting enough sun throughout the day!

This is the other side of the front door. There was railroad ties staked into the ground and MORE ferns.

Yep, we ripped out ALL of the ferns and moved the hostas about 10 inches back. We also took out all the railroad ties and put down some edging that my mom had taken out of her backyard. As corny as this may sound, I love the fact that my mom kept the edging; my dad put them in around the house. He loved gardening and I can only hope to have a "green thumb" like my Dad!

This is the other side of the house again. After we took out the ties, we shoveled off the sod and made the area bigger. We then planted some flowers! Hopefully they all will grow and look good!

We keep working on the house. It is a lot of fun and we enjoy "almost" every minute of it!!!

We have also done some landscraping/cleaning up the yard.....It is A LOT of work.

This is only part of the rocks/bricks/cement slab we found after leaves and garbage. The previous owners put plastic down to keep out the weeds. It doesn't work!!! We took out 1 1/2 contractor bags of plastic that had fallen apart.
I will continue to update projects I am doing!!!

I used to stay there almost every other weekend

I like to think that I was productive this on vacation: I wasn't

I am so excited to have cable and internet back

Life Got Busy!!!

Hello Blogger Friends (or maybe I should say Friend---)

As the title of this post says Life Got Busy....that is where I have been......Playing Life.....and taking steps in adulthood.

We bought a house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't want to say much on FB or here until it was a done deal. We closed a month ago and have been living the American Dream! We love our house, we love the neighborhood, we appreicate the love and support we got from our family and friends. What do we miss??? Our neighbors, and our short commute to work. We now have a 25 minute commute (or 40 minute, that is what my husband says.....I must drive faster!!!!) We miss our neighbors in our duplex a ton!!!! It was hard to tell them and even harder to walk by that last time! But it was just time to take that "next" step in life!!!

Here is the timeline of what we went though!!!

Early Feb----Looked at house, fell in LOVE

Feb.5---Got a call from our agent "another offer is on the table! What do you want to do?"

Feb. 6---Made an offer

Feb 6---Offer accepted within 30 minutes!!!!! Few changes to closing date!

Feb 7-28---Anxious......did we make the right decsions?!?!?!? Can't look back now!!!!!

March 5---CLOSED!!!! So excited to make that step!!!

March 6/7---Aimee came down to help with painting and such!!!! Thanks, Aims!!!!

The was the beginnning of the end. This is our Master Bedroom, but I didn't really care for the color. I wanted bright and cheery. I wanted Yellow......We started painting and the yellow soaked right into the wall. I was so worried! It tooka second coat and will need a third coat yet!

Aimee thankfully painted yellow for me!!!!She highly dislikes yellow.....I would tease her that she would have to wear a yellow dress at my wedding!!!

I don't apparently have any after pictures of that room. I will have to get some!

March 13---My awesome brothers and Mom came down to help us move!!! And to think we didn't think we had a lot of stuff! Boy, were we completly wrong!!!

March 13---We stayed the first night in our new house!!!

Yes...there is work to do, but all in due time! We love the fact that we actually have a "home" and not just a "apartment". It is a big step!!!! Well worth all the hard work we put into the last 2 years!!!!

Christmas is Done!!!!

Christmas is over and I am sad! I love Christmas and enjoy spending time with family. We had our family Christmas with my side yesterday.....it was a lot of fun. My 2 year old nephew was a woot!!!! Everything was "No, Grandma" "No, Auntie Cara" "No, Jacob"!!!!! It is his favorite word!

Jeremy has the day off tomorrow so he will take down the tree and put away the lights. It will be sad when I come home from work. :(

I was in Shopko the day or two after Christmas and was very sad to see Valentine's stuff out already.......I HATE THAT!!!! I hate when stores put things out for the next holiday before the previous holiday is done.....Valentines before Christmas is done, School supplies before school is even done, Halloween before school starts......I HATE IT!!!!!!! Okay, there is my rant!!!!
